The Reaper National Painting Contest

The painting contest was divided up into a number of categories. Some of the ones I can remember are: Masters, Staff, Diorama, Warlord Unit, Warlord Single Miniature (both Large and Small), Dark Heaven Small and Large Miniature, and CAV Unit, Open.

One of the more unique features of the competition is that if you win a category, the next year you have to compete in the Masters division!

The work on display is very impressive in all categories! The photos below show some of the entries that caught my eye. (I got to the displays while the entries were being taken away for photographs, so I only got a few shots. Others were more on the ball... photos so noted were used with permission of Remy Langlois.)

The first photo was taken by Remy, the second by me. Derek won the Masters category with this marvelous work. Note the hand in the bottom left of the picture, and the effects in the pool. The shading was phenomenal, and throughout the weekend I heard a number of good-natured grumbles about how Derek made everything look so easy (from the pros!).
