Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian writes:

We took the time recently to come up with a French-language version of Empress of Shadows, our music video about Empress Carlota of Mexico. (French was her maternal language.)

We used AI to translate the lyrics to French. Note that there's a difference between making French captions for an English song, versus making a translated song in French, which requires the lyric pattern and rhymes to be maintained in the new language.

This is what Gemini came up with:

Outro

Adiós, Mamá Carlota...

Sonauto had no difficulty with pronunciation, and came up with a song in much the same tone as the English version, but a different style.

The music style was:

French, folk, singer-songwriter, folk rock

And the music tags were 'chamber folk, singer-songwriter, acoustic guitar, french folk, 2020s'.

The original art was used again:

Empress

Caption files were made in French, as well as English, German, Spanish and Tagalog.

A new title has been added, explaining that this video is about Empress Carlota of Mexico.

The final step was to combine the music and the art with titles, using ClipChamp:

I've posted the video as a reel on the TMP Facebook page, where it has been quite popular.

If I ever go back to work on this again, I might change 'Carlota' for 'Charlotte'. In her time, she would have been known as Charlotte in Europe, although I don't know how they refer to her there in the modern day.
