It was about this time that I realized that I'd chosen a really nifty pair of armies - purely by serendipity!

As it turned out, the magic users in both my armies specialized in what I'd call negative magic - that is, preventing the enemy from doing things. Such as casting spells. Or moving.

This gave me, for instance, the ability to keep the enemy dragon entirely out of the battle! Or to really frustrate my opponent, when he wanted to move some important unit...

Right flank

On the right flank, I lose my gamble and get caught fighting in the river! Fortunately, good luck makes up for bad tactics, and I fight my way to the river bank.

Center field

In center field, I've completed my advance to constrict his units in the narrow ground. He slips a unit through the woods to flank me on the right, but I flank his flanker... it's getting a bit confused...

And in the foreground, note the bear spirit harassing my archers. That will be an ongoing annoyance!

Left flank

And speaking of spirits, the Really Big Bear Spirit has attacked the flank of my advancing leonines. Meanwhile, my centaur cavalry has raced ahead and attacked the bearmen!
