Is This Useful? Foam Hair Rollers

The H Man writes:

I agree that the older style plastic tube/greater type rollers would be useful.

I think I can imagine cutting strips from them for tiny figures. Like what a TMPer has been doing with plastic mesh.

Back to these rollers:

Cut the foam tube into rings to glue down to a base and add sand for micro creators or bunkers.

Clip the ends and hot glue closed, then green paint/glue and flock. Flexible hedges.

Do it with sand for flexible walls. Great for dungeons.

Use latex and paint mix to avoid cracking. Sand/pearlite mixed in may need testing first, otherwise sprinkled over. Foam flock should be good sprinkled over.

The foam may fit over tool handles for a better grip??

Foam may fit over blade ends for safe storage??

Either cut as short tubes or with a lengthwise slit, the foam could slide over figures for storage or postage??

Or just cut up like foam packaging peanuts.

Wire used for wire used, armatures, pinning. Terrain and basing rebar, fences, power cables, so on.

The plastic caps could be used as bases, terrain and basing bits, like satalite dishes. Shields, mecha/vehicle armour, hover boards, wheels on carts and vehicles.

Just a few ideas.

Measurements could help in future articles.

We're starting a new series called Is This Useful?, where we show you some item, and you tell us if you think this would be useful in your hobby life.

Rollers

You might think that hair rollers would be unfamiliar to most in the hobby!

Rollers

This particular type go by the rather generic name of Rollers ("salon quality"), and come in a pack of six at Dollar Tree.

Rollers

These are essentially tubes of pink foam with a wire inside. (Blue and green versions are also available.)

Rollers

The rollers end in white plastic caps, which connect to the wire inside.

Rollers

Would you use these in your hobby projects? Could you build something from them? Make a loop and support a large model when spray painting? Use one to hang a tool?
