Paul Glasser writes:

Stuka attack

I had the misfortune in turn three of being on the receiving end of a Stuka attack. However, only one plane strafed me, and it was unable to inflict any casualties.

The Italian artillery failed a vital skill check, and was unable to fire this turn. The Italians on the left flank fired on my defenders, but failed to score any hits.

My ally on the right flank scored nine hits on the advancing Italians, but only succeeded on one firepower check. One squad was killed, and the rest of the attackers pressed on. However, the Pz III platoon supporting the attack on the right flank raked my exposed New Zealanders with machine gun fire, inflicting heavy casualties. Although suppressed, they passed a morale check and held their ground.
