A few years ago, we profiled the inexpensive wooden bases at Dollar Tree. I particularly liked the 'flower' shape as a base for scenics, and stocked up on them.

Well, those wooden shapes are no longer available, but they're back in a new form as Indoor Garden Collection craft chalkboard ornaments!

For $1.25 USD at Dollar Tree, you get a pack of five ornaments, plus twine for hanging them. The wooden shapes are painted black on one side, and are about 90mm across.

These are similar to but not identical to the previous wood shapes. These new ones are thinner, have a more pronounced 'flower' shape, cost twice as much, and have a hole for the twine. Should still be useful for scenics, just remember to stick a rock or something over the hole…
