I previously wrote about making captions for music videos. However, there's another method…
If you are creating songs from the Sonauto website, there is an option called 'Get Video'. This video will include your song, as well as the lyrics.
However – and this is important – this so-called 'track video' only includes the lyrics that were supplied to Sonauto, and may not match the lyrics which the AI actually 'sings' in the generated tune!
For example, I've asked Sonauto to make a version of the TMP theme song in the style of John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful, 'Welcome Back, Kotter'), and now I am requesting a track video:
A few minutes later, the video is available:
And here it is for you to see:
As you can see, it mostly syncs the lyrics with the music. Strangely, it misses the first and last line, and it gets confused on one of the choruses. But it mostly works.
Also note that when the AI changes the lyric from 'everyone knows your name' to 'they all know your name', the track video still says the original lyric… well, sort of, since that's when the AI is confused anyway.
However, track videos get hopelessly lost when the AI makes major changes to the lyrics, as you can see here in this Billy Joel-inspired version:
As you can see, the track video gets completely lost when the AI changes the order of the lyrics!
Bottom line: Track videos can be a quick and easy way to get captions for your songs, but they don't always work, especially if the AI makes changes to the wording or order of the lyrics.
Hopefully, those of you making wargaming-related songs will find this information useful.
