Hello, everyone!
To those who donated to help us after the fire, thank you so much.
As you know, hundreds of houses in our neighborhood burned down. Our home's walls still stand, because they are cement, but the color is burned and it smells like smoke. There is no roof now, so when it rains, the water comes downstairs and we need to get the water in basins to avoid flooding.
We are allowed to sleep at the local elementary school, but only until school starts again. The government has donated rice. Your contributions have helped so much, as we have been able to buy some clean clothing, additional food, and a long electrical cord so we can plug in at a neighbor's house who still has power. The stairs were completely burned, but we have been able to buy wood and add supports to make it safe to use.
I do not sleep at the school, though, as someone needs to stay at our home. It is difficult to sleep because when it rains, the water goes everywhere. However, thanks to your help, I was able to buy a small tent so I can stay dry at night.
As you can see in the picture below, we have been able to buy some new steel roof tiles using your donations. We have 15 pieces so far, but we need another 15 or 20 tiles for the entire roof. We also need some wood for the roof structure, windows, and money to pay the workers.
Again, thanks a lot, and God bless all of you for your generosity.
