Highlighting, shading, inking, and a weird colour scheme makes this little fellow a fave.

Here things start to get interesting...

The paint job is based on one of the poison-arrow frogs of South America. Static grass makes its first appearance, as well as a small pebble painted in greys to make a rock formation.

Still not fantastic, but the pieces of the painting puzzle were coming together by then.
