Personal logo Editor in Chief Bill The Editor of TMP Fezian writes:

As I mentioned in the previous article, our staff editors have been involved making two promotional videos for social media.

When Editor Ellah, one of our former staff editors, saw the last video, she asked to be included in the project! (Many of our former staff editors continue to follow TMP after their service here.)

Once more, the first step was to work with her selected self-portrait. She selected a picture from a photoshoot that was almost perfect, it only needed to be trimmed and enlarged.

Editor Ellah

Only the photo quality has been improved. Her likeness has not been altered.

We decided to take a serious tone similar to the last video, and provide an explanation of how miniature wargaming is different from board wargaming. A script was written, low-budget AI was used to make three 10-second videos, which were strung together to make the final 30-second video.

As before, the voice is what the AI thinks Ellah should sound like.

All of the gestures were 'invented' by the AI.

What would we do differently next time?

Once again, I've gotten the aspect ratio wrong, which is why you may see black strips at the top and bottom of the video. There's also inconsistent background music.

We use the original photo as the bridge between segments, so that the parts fit together, but the transitions here are awkward, as the AI has trouble 'getting back' to the serious expression.

I've posted the video as a reel on the TMP Facebook page, where it has been the top staff-editor video in terms of views. It is appealing to all ages, but is doing particularly well in the 55-64 age bracket.
