Since we have fifteen wargaming tunes, I made another music video. The tune this time:

I again looked through the TMP photo library to find a suitable source photo.

Bayou Wars 2015

The picture above originally appeared in my battle report from Council of Five Nations. A War of the Spanish Succession game.

Distorted picture

I enlarged and distorted the image to get something in the right size for the AI to work with.

From past experience, I wasn't sure the AI would grasp the idea of a WSS game, so I lied and said it was a Napoleonic miniature wargame. I also specified 'no lettering' due to the problem last time.

AI-generated image

Strangely, the AI decided everyone at the convention was in a vaguely Napoleonic uniform! I thought the artwork had a charm to it, despite being wrong in the details. Why are the figures so large, and all going the same direction? Why don't the miniatures look Napoleonic? Why are the players using steel picks to move their troops? Oh well.

The art and music were then combined to create the following video, using ClipChamp:

I've also posted the video as a reel on the TMP Facebook page. I thought the Napoleonic purists would eat me alive. grin Would you believe it's the most-viewed video we've had so far? All of the 'reactions' have been positive, but all the comments negative (mostly grumbling about AI). More than 80% of the viewers have been people who don't ordinarily follow TMP, so it seems to be doing a wonderful job of extending the hobby and bringing in new people.
