Wyatt the Odd Fezian continues:

From the far corner of the dealer room came the frequent cry of "Space Bastards!" It was from the booth of Skullduggery Trading Company. Jon Enge & Mike Hall were promoting their obviously tongue-in-cheek game Space Bastards from Outer Space.

The premise of this $9.95 USD game is that after the Galactic Wars have ended, the brave heroes whose sole purpose in life was reducing the enemy's brave heroes to their component subatomic particles are now out of a job. Faced with the bleak prospect of a desk job, many choose to continue to ply their trade for the benefit of the audiences and sponsors of the Galactic Network. There is minimal roleplaying, with the exception that players are encouraged to come up with a heroic name for their gun/knife/grenade slinger as well as a battlecry (such as "Spoon!!"). The battlecry comes in handy when charging to the attack, as it provides an extra 1" of movement when it's needed. The combat area is a 12-24" radius arena, so combat tends to happen quite frequently and at close range. Fortunately, there are three clones of each character, so combat - which is frequently lethal - is not always terminal. To add to the mayhem, there are boxes of supplies that frequently drop onto the playing field. These cartons may contain something useful (like a weapon) or not (like a micro black hole).

Space Bastards demo

In addition to the small demo they were running at their booth, Skullduggery was demonstrating their game in the miniatures gaming room on a larger board.
