Wyatt the Odd Fezian continues:

The paints used are donated by Adikolor, Vallejo and Reaper, and provide a good example of the range of paints available on the market. The figures are provided free of charge by Privateer, Adiken, Thunderbolt Mountain, Reaper and Tactical Miniatures. The latter company's product demonstrates to newcomers that there are more to figures than wizards and barbarians, with their modern SWAT & hostage figures.

One painter visiting the P&T, Emily Strecker, had painted "a few miniatures" before, but was doing an incredible job on an Adiken figure. Pyrogal, one of the people assisting at the Paint & Take, said that she'd seen several people with no miniature painting experience produce fabulous designs after a few hours at the tables.

Each visitor to the painting tables is limited to one figure, and theoretically, one session per weekend. On Thursday, about 70 miniatures were painted. On Friday, with attendence below the weekend's expected boom, some 200 miniatures had gone home with new owners. An expected 600 will be painted by the end of the convention.
