Wyatt the Odd Fezian writes:

Meanwhile, back at the Paint'N'Take, they were hosting a speed-painting contest. The contestants each had two different-sized brushes, and a limited selection of Reaper paints. The figure to be painted was then revealed - a Reaper barbarian.

...and, with that, the 45 minutes started. Immediately, everyone started squirting Reaper Tan Flesh onto their pallettes and applying it to their figure. I chose to undercoat with brown to emphasize the already prominent musculature - big mistake! Others mixed a bit of brown into the flesh to basecoat.

After 45 minutes, time was up. The rules stated that the entire miniature had to be painted - including the base. Mine fell a bit short there, due to me re-discovering that flesh doesn't cover a dark color very well. Other painters were more successful and, in the end, Pyrogal came out on top with a well-shaded barbarian dressed in basic brown.

For her efforts, Pyrogal won a Warlord package of figures and a spot in the "paint off" Saturday afternoon.

Pyrogal wins!
