This is a close-up of the Russian right flank early in the battle, showing the wagons more clearly. Also notice the bridges at the bottom of the photo. In this scenario, these bridges are the sole means of retreat for the Russians (the river is impassable).

(I asked Rich how he made the bridges. He handed one to me, and I found to my surprise it was simply built of layers of cardboard. He told me that he got the "snow" effect by spraying it from a distance with white spray paint.)
