Wyatt the Odd Fezian reports:

Miniature manufacturer Crunch-Waffle returned to Gen Con this year. In the year since its previous appearance, Crunch-Waffle has trebled its product line-up to 37 miniatures - with the recent release of 7 packs, including the second pack of Tall-Tale Critters. This package includes the Jersey Devil and the Chupacabra. Other recent releases are the Waggamef Dinner Party, the Bog Mummy, and the Scape Goat (which is based on a Biblical story about the sins of a community being transferred to a goat, which is then sent out into the desert). As Dan Wall, one of the owners of Crunch-Waffle, describes it: "The goat is back, and it has a few things to say about who's really at fault."

Crunch-Waffle Polynesian-themed figures

He also described some upcoming releases. There are four more Native-American-themed figures, including a Coup Stick Centaur, an Indian Maiden and a Contrary. "He looks odd," says Dan, "until you realize that he's walking backwards." The fourth figure is The Indian with No Name. "I called him that," says Dan, "because when I received the sculpt, he had a strong resemblance to Clint Eastwood. One is left wondering whose side he's on."

Jihad, a half-angel/half-devil figure whose impending release was announced earlier, is currently in the casting process. Dan also announced an upcoming "special Christmas miniature" due out within the next few weeks - the master mold has been delivered, and they are waiting to get a picture of it painted before announcing it. He also wished to remind readers of Crunch-Waffle's Painting Contest, where everyone is invited to submit pictures of Crunch-Waffle figures that they have painted to the website to win prizes. Also in the works are skirmish rules, which will soon be released in open beta, as well as D20-based rules which cover the various personalities and monsters in their line-up.
