Comments or corrections?
Next to the centrifuge stands the lead pot. That puddle within the pot is molten metal, with a slight scum of impurities riding on top. The pot takes quite a while to heat up (or to cool down, for that matter). When you are near the pot, you can feel the waves of heat coming off it. The hot metal is dangerous - the trolls are careful to wear work gloves and long sleeved shirts to protect themselves from accidental burns.
