Thanks to everyone who has contributed! We have reached our goal, but will leave the campaign open because we know several people still wanted to contribute.

Julia says that with the money raised, she is hopeful that instead of flipflops, the children can receive a nicer grade of shoe (similar to Crocs).

Julia's sister, who is the class advisor, is giving birth any day now. She thought she would be able to recover in time to bring the Christmas party to her pupils. However, her doctor tells her that the baby is in an awkward position, so she is now scheduled for a Caesarian tomorrow! This means she will need longer to recover before she will be ready to ride a motorcycle up a rough mountain road to the school. Therefore, the Christmas party will probably be rescheduled for sometime in January. I'm sure the children will understand.

Last year, I decided to raise funds for my sisterís pupils' Christmas party. It was the first time for me to lead a charity effort and I am so glad that I did. I am so happy that I was given the chance to be a part of something great. We gave out slippers, raincoats and snacks to 27 grade-4 pupils. Without you guys here on TMP, this would not have been possible.

Raincoats from last year

For this year, I would like to raise funds again for the 2016-2017 4th grade pupils of San Antonio Elementary School, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. My sister and I would like to give them the same gifts the last pupils had: raincoats and slippers for rainy days, snacks and small gifts for their Christmas party.

Raincoats

The road to this school is still the same as the last time I was there. It is way up in the mountains, and there is no public transportation available. The pupils walk seven kilometers to school, hoping to have a better future.

My sister is the adviser for the class, which this year has 30 pupils. So we are raising funds for 30 pupils. This is year three of this charity effort. Letís help them and make them feel the essence of Christmas. With your help, we can put smiles on their faces again this holiday.
