Now that Dinklage has made his fortune playing Tyrion Lannister and someone in a Marvel movie or two, he wants to deprive other "little people" actors of a nice paycheck. Hypocrite. |

I had to go with "this is ridiculous" because "No" was grossly inadequate. |

So no fantasy story can include humanoids who are not 'normal' sized? No giants, no pixies, hobbits (halflings), etc.? |

Little people gave up any claim they had on the word "Dwarf" when their preferred descriptive term was mandated. Keep the FANTASY race of Dwarves around. What's next, will there be a poll about removing Munchkins from Wars of Oz? |

Fantasy Dwarves are very different from Little People: Fantasy Dwarves have always been a completely separate race, not a genetic variance among Humans. Dwarves are really quite different from Little People, and I have never, since I began playing D&D in 1980, ever considered any fantasy race to be a representation of any real-life race or group of peoples. If you take a look at the new D&D 6e artwork recently released, you will see racial appropriation taking place (Orcs are now blatantly a representation of Hispanic peoples!), where there was none, in the earlier editions of published D&D products. Racism is only now entering into official D&D publications… Cheers! |

I saw an editorial by a little people actor saying how this woke move is putting him and others out of work. I agree Dinklage made his money and fame and now wants to screw over his fellow actors. |

Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-ménu!* Fantasy dwarves are not the same as people with "dwarfism." Only an absolute twit assumes they are. *Yes, I know. That's Tolkien, not GW. But I mix the two happily. |

This is the 21st Century, Parzival. The opinions of absolute twits are regarded as just as valid at those of people employing facts and reason. No one's told me why yet. |
