I make sure I keep my Crips and Bloods on opposite ends of the line of battle.

OK, I can answer the question--that is, my pre-uniform armies and units are distinguishable by paint if not in any other way--but I have no clue what answer that would be in the poll.

but I have no clue what answer that would be in the poll.

I guess that would fall under full spectrum management – you control the paint colors so you can tell different units of the same figure apart.

I only make the officers or standard bearers different. and use these to differentiate the units.

As I batch paint I often end up with a theme unintentionally. I also do it deliberately some times.

There is no 'yes' choice!

I generally put variations of some sort even in elements that might have had a generically uniform look.

Romans, liveried troops, Chinese, Palmyran regulars, etc. have somewhat different shades of tunic, trews, accoutrements.

Unless a unit was raised and equipped all at the same time there will be differences in shade for clothing and accoutrements may vary by individual choice.

I have a few colors that I pretend are more common or at least popular in the region that unit was raised in. It is just for me my plastic warriors don't care.

For armies that to me ought to have a more highly organized logistics system then they get a purposeful "uniform ".
