TMPers are not much restrained on making nominations. About 6 folks nominated 8 films apiece for their "most watched movie", and about an equal number or more nominated 4 apiece. 1, 2 at most, would have been more to the point.

For me, "most watched" usually means "I saw it once and liked it!"

I'm not one to go back and rewatch anything that impressed me. I only watched "Showgirls" once, despite the obvious HUBBA HUBBA factor. 🙄

I watched "Citizen Kane" once. That was enough to judge it BORING!!!

My "most watched" movies include a bunch that do not merit inclusion in Cahiers du Cinema.
Get back to me when Zulu, The Man Who Would be King, The Music Man or The Godfather come up. That's at least three different Polls.

By the way, comedies can certainly qualify as "horror". Why not? Please explain why one would wish to exclude them. Can sci-fi be "Horror"? Isn't Alien horrific???
Is Blazing Saddles a Western??? 🤔 It's every bit as much a Western as Unforgiven, Red River or Tombstone.

Does Naked Gun get excluded from "Noir"?
I think not.

Is there such a thing as comedy horror? I think a horror movie should try to scare you. "Young Frankenstein" is one of my favorite comedies, never thought of it as horror. Despite it having horror in its name I consider "Rocky Horror Picture Show" a comedy farce. "The Terminator" movies are Science Fiction. Its described by the studio and the American Film Institute as Science Fiction.

Alien is sci-fi to its core.
Yet it has monster(s) stalking, the beast bursting out of someone's chest.
It's sci-fi. It's horror.

Some nominated horror movies are so dumb that I laughed at them.

One of my favorite arguments I've lived making here is that I hate shoving things into categories. One category and no others.

Young Frankenstein recreates almost exactly the creation scene, even with original props.
