Other: it depends on the game … Obviously it depends on the game … how many dice are involved, age of the players … space in which the game is being played (and/or area in which the dice are being rolled etc.) .. Your game or set up might use dice towers … I'd seriously suggest that you use dice that fit down the towers (so without an it depends on the game the poll is almost unanswerable) … Phil |

I might use GW small dice as casualty markers & large casino dice in my dice tower in the SAME game. Does the poll offer this voting preference? |

Standard sized for rolling small ones for on table marker/counters and large ones for off table counters/markers. |

i voted for small. the die dont overpower the figs visually and are easier to handle when rolling buckets of dice and less likely to damage terrain. however, as i have grown older am using standard size for most of my solo games at home. |

My use is similar to Ron W DuBray – I use standard dice for rolling and small ones as markers but don't really use large dice for anything. |

Standard or larger sized dice so I can READ them! A good contrasting color combination helps a lot also. |

Agreed. I need readability, at a glance. I don't understand people damaging terrain with dice, however. How are you rolling them? Are you pitching overhand or something? |

I don't use them for every game but with Two Hour Wargame rules I like to use foam dice that I found at a local teacher's supply store. I roll 1-inch pip dice for the activation rolls (6 different colors so up to 6 factions)& I have the players use standard size yellow w/black number dice for their rolls. These are easy to read & don't do damage to the minis or to the scenery. |

12mm (GW standard) for when rolling a half-dozen-plus d6's, standard size otherwise. As far as I can recall, I have only ever used outsized dice when role playing, or occasionally brought out for novelty factor for "that really important roll". Not taking into account dice used as markers. |

Dollar tree six pack dice. I guess that's "standard". |

Ours are pretty small in general. I like having some bigger dice around for tracking stuff. |

Those tiny dice are annoying. Nobody can read them except the guy rolling them. Half the fun is watching the die rolls and seeing the results. I ban these at my gaming table. Larger than standard dice wreak havoc on terrain and figures. I have a player who uses these and I require him to use a dice box so it works out. At least you can read these. I also despise dice that can't be read because its a dark ink on a dark color die or something similar. |

Dice towers or dice boxes are a must. Throwing dice across the table like craps is prohibited at my house. |

Generally larger dice so we can read them. If the game requires buckets of dice we will use normal size dice off to the side of the action as we have fairly big tables. |

Standard for me. I'll go small but not tiny. |

All automotive combat games must be played with giant plush fuzzy dice. |

AHGC/GW dice size for me, although I do have a ton of micro dice for buckets of dice games and status tracking. |

I use 16mm dice for rolling because they are large enough to be handled and rolled easily. All of my unit markers are 12mm dice. I love Chessex. |
