Other – I've read some Terry Pratchett, I didn't much like the early Discworld novels, but some of the later ones (which had become political satires rather than satires of fantasy tropes) I quite enjoyed.

I haven't read any of his non-discworld novels.

I found Pratchett usually well-read, clever, insightful and entertaining. Sadly, the preachiness content went up drastically in his juveniles and in his later adult discworlds. I could not recommend Monstrous Regiment, Unseen Academicals, Snuff and Raising Steam.

That's a problem with "do you read and like Author X?" It usually involves some hedging. I read and like Heinlein--up to and including The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and skipping Stranger in a Strange Land.

I have only read the later stuff and don't like it – I like my fantasy a la Joe Abercrombie or Glen Cook mode

Where's the option for "Read a bunch. Liked some, dislike others."
Instead of two identical options for "read and dislike".
I can't stand Rincewind but love the witches.

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every Pratchett novel I have read, which is most of them. Some are harder work than others, as noted above. His later works are 'heavier' than earlier ones but show his writing skills to a greater degree.

I've got and read all his "adult" Discord books and enjoyed them all, though my favourites are the Guards series because I like cop shows. In had the pleasure of meeting the man himself and my 2 signed books are treasures. I think that for many of his books you need to have to be pretty well read or have a good general knowledge to fully get the humour. He's still one of my favourite authors.

I've only ever read one book: Good Omens (written with Neil Gaimon). I loved that book. But have never been interested in Disc World series, not sure why.

Sam Vimes is the best!

I liked 'Strata' best (not a disk world book) and enjoyed his 'Nom' books (for young children but I liked). My dyslexia prevented me getting much of his humour in the 'Diskworld' books but I enjoyed the ones I got in audio books.

I own the first two Discworld books….. just never saw enough in them to make me dig up the rest. Got a friend who would read a matchbook cover if Pratchett wrote a recipe on it. He reads anything the man touched.

I loved Terry Pratchett's books. I have stopped reading them as he has stopped writing them, R.I.P.
