No.

In Britain we don't pay any attention to what school we went to, once we have left. The only exception is if your family is rich and you were privately educated at Eton or somewhere…

Several orange and blue units in our collection – both my wargaming sons got degrees from UF, and Gainesville is my birthplace. I even have a few Seminole figures with orange and blue hunting shirts.

It's a little more subtle than space marines for historical gamers. Some of my knights have IU or Purdue colors and symbols--I attended both. And buried among my 1798 Irish flags are a few gold NDs on a green field. (My son got his PhD there.) Sadly, National Military Joint Intelligence College had no colors. (They didn't field teams, either.)

Now, I do have a few Eureka teddy bears in tricornes, and in honor of a friend who attended Bowdoin, one regiment is polar bears--the school mascot--white coats with black facings--the school colors--and has the Bowdoin crest on one side of the regimental colors and the Bowdoin polar bear on the other.

But it's not my alm mater.

No. I attended a small liberal arts school in Tacoma. Loved the experience. Our colors were Green Bay Packers green and gold. About twenty years ago the school colors were changed to maroon and gray. Ick

I am a high school teacher and have painted a hydroplane in our school colors for Thunderboats!

My human team in Blood Bowl was painted as Penn State.

I have a dwarf warriors unit decked in black and gold, like my beloved Vandy.
I also have a dwarf Thunderers (handgun) unit in Tennessee Titans colors As it happens, they do tend to show up well early, then fold late. :-P

One knight, Duke Darrell of Austin. Sadly my alma mater has changed in ways that make it less likely in the future.

My school colors are blue and gray. I play a lot of ACW.

There is no connection.

NO. My school colors were basically:
Purple and White
Maroon and Purple
Purple, Red, and White
Purple and Gold

Can't do much with those colors.

Yes.

I have several maroon figures as a result, and many units are the 94th Regiment (that was my class at Texas A&M).

Heck, you may notice that my handle here references it, too.

No by design but having gone for various lengths of time to 4 universities I do have minis in the colours of most of them – mostly in my very colourful medievals

I even have a few Seminole figures with orange and blue hunting shirts.

That's just wrong! grin

I usually only remember my school colors when someone calls from the alumni association and asks for a donation. My alma mater seems to be under the impression that I'm extremely wealthy and ready to build a new library.

Old Contemptibles20 Nov 2017 3:01 p.m. PST

Why would I. Maroon and white? How?

legatushedlius21 Nov 2017 4:15 p.m. PST

On of my Copplestone figures is wearing a representation of a Brasenose College, Oxford tie!

If the University of Melbourne has colours, I don't remember them. My eldest son has followed me there, but he is in Japan, so a bit hard to ask him on short notice. Australian universities don't do sports in the same way that American ones do.
