I've more or less got used to it now, but I preferred the previous style

I'm the same as 20th. Great site though.

Thanks,

I quite like it. Seems cleaner and more open.

But whatever the design it still has loads of useful info, and reviews a huge number of figures.

I must say, since I first posted the poll suggestion, I've gotten more used to the glaring white, though I preferred the older style.

As everyone else has said, it's still a superb site for information on plastic figures.

Most written material is, in fact, black print on a white background.

Printed material, yes, you're right, of course. However one of the tenets of electronic presentation I learned long before the web (back in the days of Harvard Graphics) is that on a screen, dark backgrounds are preferable to white. It has something to do with tiring the eyes out. I'm not sure, but I think I've seen similar advice in PowerPoint as well. I could well be wrong, but I'd of thought the same is applicable to web sites.

Tim, that's fine for the young eyes (which most of us had, bac in the days of Harvard Graphics). Older eyes have different needs. Much better than white or dark is a neutral or medium color. A lot of MS-DOS programs used a medium blue background (ala the 'blue screen of death') with yellow or light gray letters for good reason.

And, as a hint, if you find the white background on PSR 'glaring', maybe you should check the brightness and contrast controls on your monitor. I'm 62, and it looks ok to me, though a light gray would be better.

Blue with off white is considered the best combination. I learned that way back in the early 80s as a comp sci major.

I find black on white too stark and often difficult to read. However, like Tim, I've got used to the site the way it is, and it's not a site that I read screenfuls an any time.
