What about plain chocolate cheese cake? We had a friend from Russia come stay with us back in 1992. We offered him a piece of chocolate cheese cake and he was incredulous. "A cake … made from cheese?" This particular bakery made them so rich, one small piece was about all anyone could handle. When I came home from work the next day it was 2/3 gone. He had it for breakfast, lunch, and tea. One morning we aksed him what kind of cheese he wanted in him omlette. "What kind of cheese…phff… in Russia we only have two kinds of cheese. Cheese! No cheese! What do you mean what kind of cheese?" |
