The statements "difference between average and median" is nonsensical. The median is one fo the more common statistics that can be used to express central tendency, hence it is an average. I would guess the suggester for this one meant something like "difference between the arithmetic mean and the median". Rick |

I have no wish to play with or against someone who has to be taught percentages on a D10. But overall, can't we just say "a little basic probability theory" and have done? The number of wargamers who think rolling more dice makes the outcome more random and who still think they're qualified to judge--or write!--rules is downright depressing. |

I think a lot of gamers would benefit from an understanding of the concept of "Independence of events" – the results of previous die rolls do not affect the results of your next one. To believe so is called "The Gambler's Fallacy." An example of this would be my parents expecting me to be a girl because their previous two children had been boys – they thought they were "due for a girl." Or maybe I just didn't get the memo… |

I didn't even understand half the options… |

I'm with Rick – load of rubbish, most of the options make no sense. Add to that the simple fact that, how ever much you explain simple probability to many gamers, they don't want to believe it. Most real events are WAY past simple probability anyway, dice are never more than a crude modelling tool. |

Base 8 is the same as base 10, if your missing two fingers. |
