I don't see the problem. Everybody knows Elephants are extremely adapt climbers. Spending hours in the treetops in the rain forests and jungles. So scaling a a little rampart is no problem.

Plus would that I had the time to paint than duplicate commanders! There are enough things to paint already

I do the same for my TSATF Colonial armies. Every command figure above platoon level has both a mounted and dismounted version.

Almost all mounted figures have a dismounted counterpart (except Boers since that would mean the entire force – more like a little over 1/2 mounted counterpart for them).
