Some candidates here should not be considered "Horror". Zardoz is its own unique category: "LSD Based Humorless Comic Sci-fi." Thank The Floating Stone head I've only seen it once. It deserves its own unique Poll: "On a scale of 1-10, how freaking AWESOME is Zardoz?" Or perhaps it belongs in a "Favorite Dubious Religious Allegory" Poll. Certainly not Horror. |

I would have thought that the terminator was SF rather than horror – it is a thriller where science is used to explain all of the tine travel and robotics. The Wickerman is not only a fine film but very possibly the best thing that Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee ever did Christopher Lee thought the same. |

Yep, most of these are not horror. But now we finally have my predicted winner: Young Frankenstein "Blücher!" |

The Wicker Man (the original, not the ridiculous remake) is a tremendous movie. It's a "cult classic" but deserves more mainstream recognition. I have to add a vote for Zardoz purely from mischievous glee. |

The Terminator movies are Science Fiction. Young Frankenstein is a comedy parity of the original Frankenstein movie, not a horror film. |

If a sci-fi movie horrifies you, what's the problem? Shall we abandon the "need" to categorize things? 🤔 Why does comedy disqualify anything? "An American Werewolf in London" is hilarious, yet has horrifying scenes. |

If we're going to have categories at all (discuss at leisure), then it might be worth applying them. Terminator is purely meant to be SF, Alien is pure horror set in space. Horrifying one person doesn't really define something as horror – for me "Love Me Tender" is a horrific film – is it then horror? |

Personally horrified doesn't cut it typology-wise. Yes, those tiger tanks in Kelly's heroes were very scary; but nonetheless, not a horror movie. |
