Just like there is a wide variety in the tastes of different apples or tomatoes, dates also have very different flavors and level of sweetness, different subtleties in their individual tastes.

Why not? The dried bananas I've seen are all sliced into disks, which can easily be broken into smaller pieces and incorporated. Bananas and cinnamon go quite well together – Bananas Foster, anyone?
