It will depend a bit on the rule set, of course. |

I find it tricky to handle more than one aircraft or ship. In King of the Battlefield, I've managed 30 or more regiments of infantry and cavalry without a problem. |

I set up scenarios so that a player never has more than 12 "things" |

Really depends on what we are playing. If it's Check Your 6 then at most 4 planes per person. If it's a medieval battle one could handle up to 10 units. |

I agree with Mr Washburn and Mr Cina – it very much depends on the rules. I answered "12," but that certainly wouldn't be possible if I were playing Starfleet Battles (for example). |

It is too hard to answer as too much depends on the rules in question. |

Very rule/period/genre dependent. |

What size of units? For Napoleonics I usually use Battalions so that is around 9-10 per Division. I can handle 4-6 Divisions with ease so that is 36-54 units plus Artillery & Cavalry units. |

As others have pointed out, it depends on the rules set, and the purpose of the rules. |

Agree it is rule specific but I find that most games I can handle 10 – 20 units without a problem |

A "unit" depends much on the rules set and its physical size versus the size of the gaming area. Too many units spoil the broth, so to speak. |

some days I handle 1 very poorly! |
