Interesting that so many choose "buy stuff from vendors." It's not that I don't do it, but there are vendors I just walk right past even if I know I need something. I'd rather pay the postage and handling than have the vendor hold my credit card while he has a nice long talk with friends. And it's literally been years--at 2-4 major conventions a year--since I saw something new and exciting released at a show.

Robert. The "buy stuff from vendors" are probably UK folks.

Shows over here are mostly 1 day events and trade stands are the main draw. Folks tend to deal in cash so no "hold my credit card" either.

Because you really rocked it in the minors!

I guess it depends on what you play and the shows you attend in the US or UK. Everyone with our group of 11 at gencon bought varying amounts of merchandise. Age is probably a factor as our kids generally bought more than we did.

I have never had a vendor hold my CC longer than it took to swipe it at Adepticon, Little Wars or Gencon. That would certainly be annoying.
