WWII. No? The poll asks about WWI battles.

No, WWI. A squadron of two German armored cruisers in the south seas. But there is already Coronel and the Falklands listed which were the two battles associated with the hunt so it seems a bit redundant.

I think it is the hunt for the 8" armed Armoured cruisers

Actually, the story of the Goeben and her commander, Admiral Souchon, both during the escape to Turkey and later would be quite a fascinating story. Souchon had to dance a fine diplomatic and military line throughout the war.

Loos, but I expect a later round will include this.

Goeben and Breslau for the win.

Also, where are the Eastern Front battles?
The first Austrian attack into Serbia…makes for a great underdog story.

Agree with Cardinal Hawkwood. Beersheba has been done, and done well, no less.

Cambrai or 1st Marne. Maybe 1st Mons?

I'd sort of like to see an epic movie about the epic WWI aerial battles over the St. Milieu region in 1918. This was a titanic struggle on the Western Front which is largely overlooked by media and scholarship by and large.

Cheers. Rod Robertson.

What is it about Belleau Wood ? Surely Delville is a much more heroic story?
