Hard to decide what the worst mechanism is. I went with special symbols since that seems to be a scheme to sell dice.

Lejendary Adventures, which was more of an RPG. And I *think* the old game Battlestorm (not the new one of the same name) used them, but can't verify it at this time.

Special symbol dice for me. That is basically an almost instant "not interested" if a system uses them as the routine method of dice rolling. I don't mind it for a board game or something similarly simple or for a special effect in a game. Even if it can be easily replicated with regular dice it isn't so bad, like you have 3 blank sides and 3 hit sides or something, then you just roll a 4+ it could squeak by.
