Belt AND suspenders man: I use glue regardless.

Back when I was very little, my first model airplane was an F-4 Phantom II that snapped together. I assembled it, picked it up and the front landing gear fell off. Put it back in, five seconds later it fell off again, so I added a bit of PVA glue to hold it in place. Snap-fit models are nice in theory but reality tends to disagree with the designers' best intentions.

I have some 1/144 scale pre-paints from Japan that snap together. The problem is that if you snap/un-snap them enough (2-3 times), the plastic wears down or deforms and they no longer hold together. So, glue.

If I don't have to glue, I don't glue. I prefer not to have to glue, but sometimes "not have to glue" still winds up being "have to glue, " due to figure quality (or lack of it), not personal preference.

Having been burned by both bits falling off and 'push fit' parts not actually fitting at all, I glue the lot.
