Gamer – but very infrequent

I will buy GW figs like any other figs that I buy; mostly second-hand, for coversion, and $1 USD a fig (including summing parts for <= $1 USD a fig). I will buy more expensive figs if I really, really, really like them (Kunckleduster and Pulp Figs come to mind as my two fave >$1 a fig brands). I have never done so with GW products, except as a gift for someone else.

I guess "will actively search them out, but won't pay more than about a buck a piece for them" makes me "none of these" rather than "collector".

I have a lot of GW figs/models because I like them – but I also game with them, if for no other reason that No. 2 son and the Little Prince like the gaming

I tried to get involved, at about the time I discovered eBay.
I got heavily into WFB and Gorka Morka and 40K and BloodBowl… and found that nobody wanted to play them. Not that I minded, since the universe turned me off totally.
Bought a lot, painted a lot, played almost nothing.
Nothing left now, sold everything, except a few broken stray figures.

I really haven't played WH Fantasy for a long time.
40k has lost its luster for me too.
Still play Blood Bowl and Space Hulk though.

I play Fantasy, getting in a game on average once a month. In fact, I have 8 different armies. However, my last three armies are made mostly or entirely of non-GW figures, and now if I add figures to existing armies they are likely as not to be from a non-GW source.

Resin: no thanks.

Used to play a lot of the GW games, but they drove me out with their constant changes and army adjustments. The cost to play became so high I opted to sell of my stuff and find another "hobby" I could afford.

I have a bunch of my son's Warhammer stuff in my basement. Neither gamer nor collector, merely storer.

Well since there was no GW Hater section had to go with none of these.

Even though I have several large 40K & WFB armies.

What GW has done to these two games for the last 12 years only drove me far into the "I Hate GW Crowd".

I got into the hobby several years ago. I really enjoyed it. I learned how to paint very well doing GW figures. I was actually proud of how well my painting skills improved.

Then GW went after its fan base. Forcing them to tear down their lovingly designed websites full of GW logos and images.

I'll bet if I sold all my GW stuff I could finance my son's college education.

Now my figures sit idly collecting dust.

Both, about equally.
The two support each other… the gaming gives a purpose to the collecting (beyond just hoarding, painting, displaying) and the collecting gives new dimension to the gaming… setting it apart from non-hobby games like Risk or Ticket To Ride.

I like some of their figures, and will game with them, but I dislike their rules and never use them. Still I've tried their rules, so categorize myself as former player.

Both games, but sometimes I feel like a collector; my schedule doesn't always allow me to game as often as I'd like. Hoping to get a game of WH40K on 6-29-13…

I used to play, and collect heavily; this year saw the last of my Warhammer leave my house. I won't miss any of it, frankly.

I started playing Epic Space Marine in 1994-95 or so. Then, I played WH 40K, Gorka-Morka, and WH Fantasy. For a while, I was playing Orks, Imperial Guard and some SM in 40K. I even played some tournaments. Some of the players at the tournies were great, and some not so great to play. So, I gave that up. The rules changes and price hikes (far, far above the usual inflation)drives me crazy. I quit playing 40K. Then, my friend (Jeff) liked WHF, so we have been playing that over the past ten years. I really don't buy much GW stuff at all. He has huge armies of several of the WHF races, and I have a smaller Empire and an Orc army from 12 years ago. It's enough for me. Oh, sometimes I buy GW paint.

I have some 1000 figures from GW and never played it… The rules are terrible…

KTravlos22 Jan 2014 4:04 p.m. PST

I have a fully painted WH40k Space Marine Army, and very occasionally play

War-hammer wise I am engaged in a project to collect 1000 pts from each army, but it has been stalled. I have fully painted Dwarves and Orks, half painted Empire and Brettonia, and about 2/3rd painted Beastmen.
