The big question is, Can Coat D'Arms flesh paint be used on legs or a face? :)

Don't recall what the colour is called. might be flesh tint.

I've been using the same 59ml bottle of Royal & Langnickel acrylic for over 15 years. 70p well spent.

I've always used Creamcoat medium flesh with a reddish-brown wash for that out-doorsy look.

I use the GW Cadian fleah with a light wash of sepia

I'm cheap, so I use the CraftSmart Coral. It's the perfect color for my 10mm forces. It doesn't cover dark primers well, but that also results in some deep shadows that work at that scale.

I actually use several "flesh tones" depending on race, ethnicity and such.

I use an old GW Dwarf Flesh. Slightly reddish, but TBH even that is not red enough for sunburn, or dark enough for a tan, both of which would be more realistic than the very pale shades otherwise available.

I use the FolkArt Sunflower craft paint, but I also brush on Minwax Polyshades Royal Walnut, aka, The Dip, which darkens it to what I like. Cheers!

Ah, White Privilege question! grin

I once won a painting competition with Zulus.
I used Armoury Nubian Flesh, with a wash of Floquil Ogre Dark Brown.
Hey. I didn't name those paints! grin

best flesh tone is what you have…

I have a lot of different flesh tones, and tend to go for a mix even in ethnically homogeneous armies. People aren't clones even if they're of the same ethnicity.

Does anyone really care, when each army is made up of 100+ miniatures? And the table has 400+ miniatures on it, for "the big battle"?… LOL!

Folks have commented that they like to have variations in flesh color, as no two people are exactly alike. That point is valid, as far as it goes. However, en masse, I could not care less. I do a base color (Folk Art Sunflower), followed by The Dip (Minwax Polyshades Urethane Stain -- Royal Walnut): it never goes on exactly the same, the shading varies, subtly, on each figure.

Can you really tell a difference, using diverse paint colors, at arm's length? I paint for viewing my armies at 3+ feet distance. I'm in this for the volume effect. I dreamed of playing with armies of 100's of miniatures, in High School. Today, I am living my dream. YMMV.

I played in a large 15mm fantasy game with a friend (see below, regarding 12,000+ miniatures). All of his miniatures are painted to a high standard. I looked at some Goblins, but I could not make out much detail, with them sitting on the tabletop. I picked them up, and looked at them over my glasses, around five inches from my eye: they were uber-detailed, white pupils, and black irises! I commented that all of that beautiful detail was lost at normal gaming distances, "Why bother?" He replied, "Because I would know if they were poorly painted." I do not suffer from that feeling, so I paint to a lower standard.

While I have over 1,000 painted miniatures in fantasy alone, they are all GEtGW standard. A friend has 12,000+ historical miniatures, all of which are painted to a high standard. No, he did not paint all of them, himself (I painted over 700 of mine, myself; the first 300, I hired out, decades ago, before I started painting…). Some of us are satisfied with GEtGW, some of us are not. To each their own. Cheers!

Damn skippy!! Right now I'm using Apple Barrel craft acrylic from Wally World, Lite Mocha. Who knows, when I run out of that maybe I'll find something else.

I was happy with the Foundry flesh set with 6 different triads. Fairly easy to mix and match as well. Not much left though so I will eventually have to try some new paint…

The only one I found that I thought was 'better' was Citadel Elf Flesh my 'go to' until it finally ran out.

As in the poll, mix your own.

I use ALL the reaper flesh tone colors, depending on what I am doing. North Europeans and Italians are not the same skin tone. Add Spanish and Hungarians and it gets more complicated. I am Caucasian and do not have the same skin tone as my father.
I do, on rare occasion, use craft paints skin colors as well.
