I prefer to use stands without multiple figures.

This is just my view, but I prefer to handle stands by the stand, to avoid handling the figures. I always gasp inside when I see videos of fellows grabbing their or others' art by the heads as if they are chess pieces.

You can't grab beveled stands that way unless you turn them upside down like I did with a couple of the Battletech stompy robot guys.

Other – flat steel bases; there's barely measurable height.

I prefer the straight edges as the stands fit together better when you mass units.

Like flashman14. I prefer them as flat as possible. Usually steel but bass wood as well.

Straight edges – makes it easier to pick them up and to line them up on the table

Other: Whatever's cheaper/ comes with the figs. In other words, "No preference," which I was surprised to not find on the poll.

I use steel bases that are so thin that the shape of the edge is immaterial.

I like the looks of the beveled edges better, but as mentioned above, I suspect that nice shape works against picking them up easily from the table.

I use flat thin metal bases. I want the base to disappear.
