I am part bird and am easily distracted by shiny things and my own reflection.

I try to stay disciplined and finish a batch before moving on. I might leapfrog and set aside primed figures that have not yet gotten to my table

I am two thirds of the way through a three year project to paint up all the forces necessary to game Gravelotte St Privat and Sedan with a modified version of Fire and Fury (ie a lot of figures). Before I retired, I was setting myself painting goals that did result in the tasks becoming chores. I am a lot more relaxed about it since retirement. I am still working away industriously, but not worrying about the rate of progress.

A bit – I am less OCD than before but still spend way more time on teeny details for small scale figures than I probably ought to

I am glad this was phrased as "informal" OCD or I would be off on a rant due to my legitimate OCD…

I no longer suffer from painting OCD. I used to, badly. Sometimes I would skip sleep and need to call off sick to work in order to finish a painting project. Yes, "need." It would make me crazy. I once spent about 50 hours straight painting. I am glad those days are behind me.
