The more vibrant the color, the higher the likelihood it will be targeted by other players for whatever negative actions the game allows. The more subdued the color, the more it's likely to be ignored.

Would have been better to have kept to the eight basic colors- primary, secondary, black, and white.

Ages ago, I had a strong preference for red, but then I started to play with a guy with an even stronger one, so I switched to green. These days it happens I move green pieces even if I'm playing another colour this time.
