You always have to have a few duff units – after all, everyone has a role in life, even it is soaking up enemy fire!

I have known wargamers to sell such units--well, offer them for sale anyway, because WE certainly weren't going to buy "the Rotten, Routing Tenth."

But I thoroughly approve of the wargamer who painted yellow stripes down the back of his Bavarian Guard Armored Cuirassiers after they finked out on a critical morale roll. Some time later, they chopped their way through a sea of light cavalry and the enemy CinC, and had their yellow stripe removed.

That would be the 3rd New York. It was a decent regiment for everyone except my friend George. With him, it could do no right and ran away at the first sight of trouble. He wanted to buy it from me, melt it down into a musket ball then shoot it into the woods. The only way he
Could make sure it was gone :)

I have to keep playing with them or else I'd have no units left as all my units seem to always lose

They go right into the front line.

They have proven themselves to be nothing but cannon fodder, so that is their lot in life.

Newly painted units always fail. Universal Truth #134.
It would be a heck of a thing to decimate every unit as soon as its training is completed.

some of the best stories in gaming come from such units.

not only keep them but cherish them.

its part of the fun and reminds you its just a game.

23rd fusilier, that is the funniest thing i have heard today. THANK YOU!
