I think it comes from the game designers reading the Nemesis strip in 2000AD. |

Other = no clue what you're talking about, but I bet the author just made it up. |

I agree with MiniMo: Other = no clue what you're talking about, but I bet the author just made it up. |

I can't imagine that the Dreadknight has chaotic origins. A lot of the technology in it isn't much different from technology in much of the other gray knight equipment, only bigger. It seems not much different from a penitent engine in style and I would imagine that most of both the dreadknight and the engine are precursor technology to the dreadnoughts. If that is the case it would make sense that the dreadnought technology replaced the older version and that the older version, no longer being as widely produced, would be forgotten. |

Anything introduced post-Rogue Trader is heresy of the highest order. |

LOL, I totally agree with Weasel – I haven't bought a new rule book since they moved to Ver 2. Rogue Trader is still on my shelf though doesnt see much light. |

40K is heresy… just in my Grognard based humble opinion… |

Yes! I think the authors state the technology came from the lost era on some sort of machine cult. They were especially active in the re-conquest era by the Emperor. A fellow co-worker is actually reading the books series, and he just so happened to mentioned them being used. The setting is before Chaos-warp is officially acknowledged let alone discovered (pre-Horus heresy)… Of course could be wrong and have the facts out-of-order, but hey, enjoyed the question. Good Question, thanks! |
