Italian Female Militia forces of the period. Nice uniforms and damn good fighters in their own right :)

Wurrtemmburg – for the helmets.

Mute Bystander27 Jun 2015 5:49 a.m. PST

It was a close run between Austrians and Spanish but went with Great Grandma's Home Country.

Spanish have the colorful uniforms (can't wait to try and do them in 3mm) but the Austrians have the history.

I chose favorite to look at over favorite to play. Question seemed open to many interpretations.

One thing, fer sure, I never , ever will collect or play the British. Family tradition must be maintained.

I have several Napoleonic armies (British, D-Bs, Prussian, Austrian & Russian) but always, I prefer the French.

After many years of wargaming, we share a history of defeats (many), victories ( a few) & lots of fun & happy memories.

Wurttemburg.

As 20th Maine has already said, cool hats.

The army was small enough that it can be modeled in its entirety, if desired. The division that served in the 1809 campaign is possible to handle on the table top without being unmanageable (in some rules.) They have a nice variety of troop types, and can stand on their own in a game.

Historically, they gave a good account of themselves.

Saxons since they were the first complete Corps that I owned for 15mm Napoleonics.

Bavarians, cornflower blue uniforms, cool helmets, what more can you ask for. Oh and a cool flag!

Winston Smith27 Jun 2015 8:33 a.m. PST

I voted for Poles because when I borrow that army I win with them.

Bavarians

If I could only have one army, it would be the French, so I could take on all comers. Vive l'Empereur! But I do love red coats and kilts.

Portuguese, good but underrated army. Also I am first generation of Portuguese immigrants on both sides.

French – Vive l'Empereur!

La Grande Armee – kind of says it all

Actually I very much like the classic French grunt, line infantry in blue coat and shako – not to mention les grosse freres (cuirassiers)

Plus there is a pretty wide range of other units

Missing a few from the list…Danes, Italians, Dalmatians, Two Sicilies, Sardinia.

waaslandwarrior28 Jun 2015 12:49 p.m. PST

Also missing: Dutch-Belgians (1815).

Another vote for those Bavarians, for all of the reasons above by Strosstruppen.

francoist29 Jun 2015 2:27 a.m. PST

French!

But should be best to have option, french in 1805-1807 are dest than in 1814..

John the Greater29 Jun 2015 7:24 a.m. PST

Austrians – I like the variety. My second choice is Portuguese.

Weasel29 Jun 2015 11:19 a.m. PST

Austrians, mostly because the first time I played Empires in Arms, I ended up with them and had a good time.

Fortunately the French "win" this poll because without lots of French, who would the others fight ?

Why do the British get a special "Peninsular" category? I would like to see a category of "Revolutionary (1790s) era French" added. Another of my favorites.

Mute Bystander30 Jun 2015 9:11 a.m. PST

Maybe because no one (that I have ever heard of) plays the British except Peninsular or the Waterloo campaign?

Gunfreak Supporting Member of TMP30 Jun 2015 10:09 a.m. PST

Stupid hard question.

One week it's British, another french, then pussians, then Russia.

Only major power i never much cared for are austrians

Austrians in 28mm and 18mm – love their uniforms.

Wulfgar01 Jul 2015 9:10 a.m. PST

I think all of the Wurttemberg supporters must have voted early. It was fun when they at 2nd place. Fun poll!^^

Reactionary02 Jul 2015 5:37 a.m. PST

Naples! Who doesn't love Amaranth?

Old Contemptibles09 Jul 2015 9:49 p.m. PST
