guess my fandom for the tony Hillerman novels is not universal. it's partly the novels which are decent, but more about the Navajo Rez, that I have spent so much time on. I like to read novels that describe places i have been. |

Lots of novels I enjoy--but I buy miniatures because I expect to use them in wargames. My answers to a poll of "who is your favorite detective?" would be different. And "what are your favorite detective novels?" would get another different set of answers. |

I can't believe you don't have Decius Caecilius Metellus from the SPQR series. The author has a great feel for the period and the historical characters. Well worth the read. |
