One while commuting, one while at home. Either might be fiction or non-fiction.

The number of fiction books I've read, can be can be counted on two hands.
It's been years since last I read a fiction book.
But I usually have 2-3 history books going at once.

Sometimes, but it is much more likely that I have two history books going at the same time.

I will read 2 non-fiction @ a time. Fiction is a very very rare read.

Normally it is 3-5 books going stashed in various rooms of the house as well as the car. Mostly non-fiction, but occasionally a fiction book is among the current books.

That's the target or default setting. But it can be two completely different non-fiction in normal use, or for swatting up a subject or researching a particular event, pretty much everything I can find on the subject, flipping back and forth. Hard to take a pile of books to the fast foodery for lunch, though.

Depends on the mood and the books. Sometimes I will get into a historical theme and read several on the same period. Sometimes I will read period fiction then historical for the same period, or vice versa. Other times I will read several fiction books 1 after the other.

Depends on my mood. Right now I'm reading two historical books. But I have read two fiction books or one of each.

My habits aren't as regimented as the poll suggests, but I do have any number of books going on at any given time.

Not always, but often.

Other. I don't limit myself to 1:1 fiction/non-fiction. I read what I want when I want, and often 2-3 books going on at a time.

Some times

The difference is it takes probably a quarter of the time to dash thru a fiction book

MajorB12 Dec 2018 12:46 p.m. PST

As the mood takes me.

Sometimes I read multiple books at the same time.

Shagnasty Supporting Member of TMP13 Dec 2018 2:16 p.m. PST

Much of my fiction is historical.
