I worked up (I would guess about) a one-page back story for my RT chapter, with fairly detailed patterns & markings for different squads and character types. I wouldn't call it a "deep background". |

I don't take them too seriously but I do have two Chapters The first has a deep background but done by someone else – the infamous "Angry Marines" (strong language warning!) 1d4chan.org/wiki/Angry_Marines The second is a lot smaller but I am working on it – my own creation including the background – The Emperor's Dominion, based on Canada and its ten provinces |

I had 'Wonder Bread" space marines, in white with big colored circles on them. They could have been escaped clowns or pathfinders, but I never settled on one story and subsequently recycled them with and heads and thorax sections to become Ant Men from Space… |
