Other than aircraft and WW2 ships I avoid anything past 1913. |

Hadn't heard of it before – and it follows have never seen it. |

I didn't watch it, believe it or not. The book was good, though. As was Nathan Fick's ONE BULLET AWAY, which is a narrative of the same events written by the platoon leader of the platoon Evan Wright wrote about in GENERATION KILL. I highly recommend both books. Shawn. |

I only watched one or two episodes. I am terrible about watching shows. I enjoyed the book though. |

The book was quite good. The series, unfortunately, took a political stance (surprise). Some of it was good cinema. Some it was not. |

So which Iraq War? There are so many of them. |

GENERATION KILL is about the march up to Baghdad in 2003. ;) Shawn. |

The disappointing thing for wargamers is that all of the fighting is "hand waved" – nice pictures of things blowing up, but little attempt to depict any real tactics. |

I rather enjoyed it. Watched it again recently on Amazon Prime. |

Didn't watch it. It's too close to home. I had family involved. Same reason I don't watch most movies post WWII. Myself or family members, or close friends were involved in all those events, so once you've been there/done that, it's hard to see some Hollyweirdos take on it. |

I liked it, they at least got the gear, uniforms, weapons and how Marines speak correct. I wasn't there for the 2003 invasion but made it in country for 2005. I watch it while I paint my 20mm figures for Ambush Alleys FOF. |
