All of the above – for a long time I was in a place where there were no other gamers so I collected both sides for the armies I am interested in; I still only paint what I am interested in but I will play what the guys at the club are playing |

Both – I am working on a project painting ACW for brother on brother or other skirmish rules not decided that yet. Then I took a break and painted up a bunch of blitzkrieg Germans since most of the local guys are into Bolt Action. |

I buy what I want. I have gone in with a couple of group projects, but I do it because it is something I am interested in, not simply because others are doing it. |

I have over 2,000 figures for the Paraguayan War. You know I am collecting for myself. I also collect and paint anyone who fought against the Romans. One day I will actually win a game with those armies. One day {sigh}… |

I definitely have become interested in something because others in the playgroup are into it. But if it's not my thing, I won't get in just because it's what they are playing. |
