My favourite is not there – the classic Klingon D7 Battlecruiser

I haven't ordered it yet, but the Pelagic Dominate Benthic class cruiser from Khurasan is a favourite of mine:

I hope there will be more Pelagic Dominate ships.

In regard to Ninja Magic, I think both the Kikoku and Jun-ila ship designs beat the Guardian. I'll pick the Tipaka class battleship and Huala class frigate as my favourites from those two ranges.

There are also no Cold Navy ships listed. I like the Mauridians especially, but the Diesho are up there as well. Here's the Ven'Esstaga class missile carrier and the Ro'Dong'Tao class destroyer:

The Brigade Indonesians are worthy of a mention, I think they're a step above most of the older Brigade spaceships. Here's the Borobudur class battlecruiser:

And ZandrisIV has (among others) the Malacca class stealth destroyer and Embassy class assault carrier which I really like:

I've also just recently discovered the Antenociti's Hiigarans. I don't know what this ship class is called (Venerable class something, perhaps?) but I really like the look of it:

Participate in the pre-poll discussions next time, to make sure your favorites are included. grin

I wasn't complaining about the incompleteness of the list in the poll. These polls are by their nature always imperfect anyway and (as far as I'm concerned) really just there to stimulate discussion. To that end, I was mentioning some other ships that I like.

Anyway, if I had to pick one absolute favourite ship, it would be the Pelagic Dominate Benthic class cruiser right now. The reason I don't own it yet is that I can't make a game-friendly fleet out of a single ship type, and I like my fleets to have a running aesthetic theme. I've been wanting to ask Jon of Khurasan if he means to make more Pelagic Dominate ships, but I'm trying to be polite and wait until he's a bit less busy.

I am sorry I missed the pre-poll discussion. There are very few ships on that list that I care for. Really only one GZG ship? Nothing from ADB all FASA?

And the poll was from Oct 2011. No wonder I did not see it!

So how are these selected from that thread?

So how are these selected from that thread?

I took all nominations from the thread that were valid. Unfortunately, some nominations were not for specific wargaming models.

Four years ago! Wow.

I tend to favor the newer Starline 2500s from ADB, especially the Klingon, Romulan, and Gorn ships.

Well, none of the above. I like the GZG ScabFed fleet, particularly their battleships--- obviously, as I bought a fleet!

For aliens, it's hard to beat Studior Bergstroms Hive ships; original, menacing, and very much "not of human origin" in the look. They might be something Moebius or H,R, Giger would have come up with.

Bur I'll say "thanks" to Roderic for the pic of the Brigae Indonesian desigh. I don't much like most of Brigade's spaceships, but that one is a great look, so you've sent me back to browse again.

Of the ships pictured on the list, I'd give the nod to the Hydra War Rocket model as definitely capturing the feel of the inspiration source! "Flash, Aa-aah!"

I like the Cold Navy ships being produced by Ravenstar Studios.

I'm currently painting some FASA miniatures for a friend: Andor, Bird of Prey, Chandley, Reliant. I'm having trouble bringing out the details on the last one, but all the others are looking good. Assembling them is more problematic, especially the nacelles on the Andor. They judt didn't put in enough space for both of the nacelles, which are placed inwards rather than outwards.

Antenociti's Hiigarans

I like GW's Imperial ships from Battlefleet Gothic.

nazrat09 Mar 2015 6:41 a.m. PST

Likewise, especially the Imperial Destroyers. Love 'em!

I've always had a soft spot for both Agents of Gaming and Mongoose Publishing's Babylon 5 miniatures especially the Minbari, Whitestar, Narn, Centauri, and Earthforce fleets. The Shadow fleet also just radiated menace and you just knew you wanted to have the Vorlons on your side. The Interstellar Alliance Victory/Excalibur was also an awesome model. Anyhoo salut y'all!
