If Wh40k is included as an obscure SCi-Fi ruleset ( tongue in cheeck) I'd certainly love to mention Stargrunt II.
After all these years still the very best IMHO.

The logic of this seems to suggest that the LOSER of a poll like this should be the winner.

More like uncommon than obscure.

I only play 2nd ed. WH40K
Knighthawks is still a decent system-works well with roleplaying.
I graduated from StarFleet Battles to Federation Commander but still use a lot of SFB for gaming.
Been with Battletech since Battledroids, still prefer 3025-era
I play WarpWar with Imperium.

That's just me…

I wouldn't call Warhammer 40K, Star Fleet Battles or Battletech obscure. Knight Hawks maybe, but it does have a following.

Nor would I. But if 40K is the most obscure scifi ruleset that you actually play, that provides insight into how mainstream your scifi games are.

Should've had Howard Whitehouse's Alien War. A really fun squad skirmish game with a niffty mechanic for recovery of wounded troops.
I'm still playing with my copy, but my kids are better, or maybe the dice like them more! A fun ruleset!

Laserburn is hardly obscure wink
